Prices are provided in terms of either USD, Neopoints, or both, depending on the item. Whether you’re just starting out or have been trading for a while, this guide should help you get a better idea of how to price your items correctly.
If you’re ever unsure about the price of an item, I recommend asking for a price check in SPAM for Neopets. The prices of Neopets can fluctuate dramatically based on factors like stats, color, species, name, and avatar status.
Pricing Shell Accounts
Shell accounts are typically empty accounts used to create a fresh start or as a base for future pet creations. The pricing of these accounts can vary based on whether they are legit or illegit.
Legit Shell Accounts (Aged 4 months to 2 years):
- 300k NP or $2 USD to 500k NP or $3 USD
Illegit Shell Accounts (Aged 4 months to 2 years):
- 250k NP or $2 USD
Accounts older than two years are generally not sold as shell accounts.
Pricing Main Accounts
Main accounts, which are typically fully created with pets and have an avatar collection, tend to be priced higher. The age of the account, along with factors like avatar count and account history, all influence the price.
Legit Main Account with ~200 Avatars (Aged 4 months to 2 years):
- 2 million NP or $11 USD to 4 million NP or $22 USD
Legit Main Account with ~225 or More Avatars (Aged 4 months to 2 years):
- 2 million NP or $14 USD to 3.5 million NP or $25 USD
Legit Main Account with ~200 Avatars (Older than 2 years):
- 6 million NP or $35 USD to 8 million NP or $50 USD
- Note: The older the account, the higher the price range.
Legit Main Account with ~225 or More Avatars (Older than 2 years):
- 4 million NP or $30 USD to 8 million NP or $50 USD
- Again, the older the account, the higher the price range.
Additional Account Value Factors
If an account comes with additional assets, such as pets, Neopoints, or items, these will significantly impact the value of the account. Here’s how additional assets are valued:
- Pets: The stats, species, color, and avatar status of the pets will all add value to the account.
- Neopoints: If the account contains Neopoints, the current NP to USD exchange rate will be applied to calculate the added value.
- Items: Any items in the account are priced based on their current value, and the total worth will be added to the account's price according to the NP to USD ratio.
- Trophies: The presence of trophies can increase the account’s value, depending on the rarity and difficulty of the games from which the trophies were earned.
